For this colored lash brand, we wanted the focus to be on the vibrant colors of the company's lashes. We constructed a set out of various plastics, and left the wardrobe fairly monotone for maximum contrast. We even snuck a scene of garbage bags in..talk about 'one man's trash' becoming another's treasure! We brought the cookout to the set for this brand shoot for hair oil company, Amelia Co.! The client wanted to mix in comfortable shots of herself, along with scenes of Black men just..,being themselves. To do this we played classics like the Cubic Shuffle and Almost Everything by the Temptations to loosen up the first-time models. The result? We modernized old Hollywood glamour with this shoot. For the model's 25th birthday we paired pinstripes with diamonds to make the maximum impact in black and white. We added depth and dimension through simple flat white and black set pieces, and layered in texture through make-up and jewels. If you squint, you'll see that she's sporting a Marilyn Monroe lip behind the monochrome edit.
